TIC et développement rural : des jeunes exposent leur stratégie

Dans le cadre d’un concours de rédaction, lancé par le Centre technique et de coopération agricole et rurale (CTA) des jeunes des pays ACP (Afrique Caraïbe Pacifique) ont eu l’opportunité de dévoiler leur stratégie TIC pour booster le secteur agricole des pays en développement.

Ken Lohento, le coordonnateur de ce projet intitulé ARDYIS (Agriculture Rural Development Young and Information Society), présent, en Afrique du Sud, dans le cadre de la semaine CTA/NEPAD, qui s’est tenu du 22 au 26 novembre 2010, à Johannesburg en Afrique du Sud, nous éclaire sur ce concours dont la finale a constitué l’un des grands axes de cette semaine.

Le séminaire annuel du Centre technique de coopération agricole et rurale (CTA), co-organisé cette année avec le Nouveau partenariat pour le développement de l’Afrique (NEPAD) a été bouclé sur un brin d’optimisme mais aussi de challenge le vendredi 26 novembre. Experts, responsable du CTA et du NEPAD ont exprimé leurs attentes et appelé l’ensemble des acteurs à exécuter chacun le rôle qui lui est imparti pour une gestion intégrée des ressources en eau.

The Executive Director, Caribbean Agriculture Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Mr. Arlington D. Chesney, has said that the role of technology in closing the knowledge gap on agricultural development is very important. Speaking to the Africa New Media Group at the just concluded, weeklong in South Africa, Mr. Chesney said that technology, though very crucial in closing the knowledge gap in agriculture development, noted that it’s not an end in itself.
